This necklace features a real Alder cone and electroplated with recycled copper. It is hung on an 18 inch copper orbital chain with handmade infinity clasp.
I find these cones under a big Alder at our favorite swimming hole. Alder trees are also an important part of Irish mythology, and you can read more about them here.
Electroforming is a process where we take recycled copper from a sacrificial anode and deposit it onto our material using an electrical current.
