Jacaranda Mimosifolia is a deciduous tree native to Argentina and Bolivia. They have large bipinnate compound fern-like leaves with tiny leaflets. In the spring and summer the canopy is full of bright purply blue flowers. It is also sometimes called the fern tree.
I used a process called electroforming to encase some of Jacaranda's beautiful leaves in recycled copper.
Electroforming is a process where we take copper from a sacrificial anode and deposit it onto our organic material using an electrical current. The process usually takes 24 to 48 hours. There really are leaves in each of these earrings.
We ship them in a Kraft gift box for sweet gift giving and safe shipping.
